Willem Abelen's FLUX

Willem Abelen's FLUX is founded by composer and band leader Willem Abelen. The band was originally created to perform at the final exam of Willem's Bachelor Conservatory studies at the world-famous BIMHUIS. After this concert in a packed BIMHUIS, Willem decided to make FLUX his main focus, with the next step being the recording of his debut album. He recorded this in February 2023 with the current line-up of Tom Veltien on guitar, Michal Niedbala on piano, Freek Mulder on double bass and Yordi Petit on drums. The album, also called FLUX, released in September 2023 on Zennez Records. He sees the record as a reflection on current events, the chaotic times we live in today. Cinematic jazz, where each song tells a story while simultaneously giving the musicians the freedom to add their own chapter. Easy-listening but exciting, authentic but experimental.
